Inês D'Orey
Inês D'Orey

Porto (PT), 1977

Much of her artistic work focuses on the transformation of the heritage identity of the contemporary city, where the architectural object presents itself as a subject of memory, changing meanings over time. Architecture, the polis, the border between public and private space, research on places and their contexts are some of the elements that constitute her body of work, whose main medium is photography, although with fusions with installation and video.
She exhibits, publishes and does artistic residencies regularly in Portugal and abroad (Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Spain, UK, Slovenia, Lithuania, Brazil, Russia, Japan, USA, Serbia, Argentina).
Her work is present in several private and public collections, including EDP Foundation, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Art Library Collection, Porto City Hall, Lisbon City Hall, Oliva Arauna Collection (Spain) and Galleri Image (Denmark).
She has been awarded for her work, namely the FNAC New Talent Photography Award 2007.
Inês D’Orey is represented by Galeria das Salgadeiras (Lisbon) and Galeria Presença (Oporto).
