
José Manuel Rodrigues

He is a contemporary Portuguese-Dutch photographer and visual artist. He has lived and worked in Évora, Portugal, since 1993, after more than 20 years living and working in the Netherlands.
He co-founded Perspektief - Associação de Artes, and is responsible for programming the gallery's exhibitions. He was also a member of the Association of Art Photographers (G.K.F.) and the Amsterdamse Kunstraad (Council for the Arts, Amsterdam) between 1987 and 1992.
In 1982, he was awarded the Vrije Creatieve Opdracht (Creative Photography Prize) by the Amsterdamse Kunstraad (Council for the Arts, Amsterdam). In Portugal, he was awarded the Pessoa Prize in 1999.
